Macerata Feltria is home to the Archaeological and Palaeontological Museum, which guides visitors on a journey through time from Prehistory to the Middle Ages, exploring the rich history of the Roman settlement of Pitinum Pisaurense and the fossils that reveal the region’s origins.

They are important parts of a journey that blends art, memory, and tradition, one which surprises visitors and brings them closer to the authentic Montefeltro.
Fabio Fraternali, an art historian with a degree from Urbino university who also trained in Bologna, is an academic from the Accademia Raffaello and a member of the Deputazione di Storia Patria per le Marche association. He previously the Rocca Ubaldinesca castle in Sassocorvaro and currently works with the Gradara Innova association.
Since 2025, he has been the head of the Mu.Mont Museum Network, dedicated to the museums of Montefeltro.
His new role marks both a return to his roots and an exciting new challenge. In the coming months, he will coordinate the redevelopment of the museums currently in the network and lead its expansion by incorporating new cultural institutions in the area. The project also includes cataloguing, promotion, and communication campaigns with the aim of promoting Montefeltro. An ambitious plan, designed to strengthen the area’s cultural standing within the Marche region.
