The Mediaeval Metallurgy Museum exhibits evidence of an ancient craft born out of human skill and nature.
As early as the Middle Ages, skilled artisans in this area were transforming raw materials into tools that were crucial for everyday life: blazing furnaces melted iron to be moulded and shaped by expert hands into utensils, weapons, furnishings, and the renowned Pietrarubbia scissors, much valued in Rome at that time.
