Just 300 souls call Frontino home
The main lane is a walk through time: flowers on the windowsills, stones that whisper ancient stories, the ivy-covered outline of the civic tower, the church of Saints Peter and Paul, and Palazzo Vandini, now a restaurant.
There is no shortage of surprises: the contemporary fountain by Franco Assetto, the Turin-born artist who left a permanent mark on the village, just like the museum dedicated to him. And then there are the stories: those of the medieval castle, of the ancient families who ruled here down the centuries, of the sieges overcome, and of unwavering loyalty to the Duchy of Montefeltro.
Around the village, the Sasso Simone and Simoncello Natural Park invites visitors to head out into the hills, exploring the trails and their sweeping views. At Pian dei Prati, with its wildlife park, you can make direct contact with nature. And just outside the village is the Montefiorentino convent, one of the largest in the Marche region, a haven of peace immersed in the verdant countryside.
