Balanced between sky and stone, along the road that connects Macerata Feltria to Monte Carpegna, lies a silent place suspended in time: the Sant’Arduino Complex. What remain are a deconsecrated parish church, a bell tower without bells, and a few rustic structures that tell of a once-vibrant hamlet, now wrapped in silence and stone.

Here, the Castle of Sant’Arduino was likely one of the first possessions of the Counts of Montefeltro, together with the fortified settlement of Pietrarubbia. The parish remained autonomous until recent times, but over the years the families who lived here gradually left, leading to the abandonment of both the buildings and the community itself.

At the heart of the complex lies an underground crypt, a small chamber carved into the living rock: during surveys conducted in 1974, burial niches were found containing mummified remains wrapped in hemp and linen, dating back to 1587. A testimony of a life once lived and of a bond with memory that endures, despite the passing of time.

Mu.Mont invites you to walk this path suspended between abandonment and sacredness. The Sant’Arduino Complex is not only a monument to see, but an experience to be listened to in silence: walking among stones, memories, and recollections carried by the wind.
